I Have A Dream Weekend

Good Evening Ladies & Gentlemen,

Friday after work, I met up with my mom and aunt and caught up a bit before heading out to the Grizzly Rose, a country-western bar a few miles from my house...and apparently my mom remembered going to it back in the day. I know what you're thinking...and yes, two country-western bars in the span of two weeks for me...is a new record. Usually it's not even in consecutive years where I go to a cowboy bar...but this one wasn't that bad. Like Stoney's in Vegas, they too had a huge dance floor, mechanical bull (no riding this time) and plenty of tight pants and cheap beers, so a good time was had by all.
Actually just about my favorite sunset from my bed yet...
Actually about a week ago...but I thought I'd share...ladies

Did I mention that I love my view?

Saturday, we decided to head out to Boulder for the day. It's about a thirty minute drive from my house to this college town...and I hadn't visited it since moving out here. It's what you would expect from a nice college town and we drove around a bit and walked...well, just over a block of Pearl Street over the course of two hours. Apparently there was a lot of shiny stuff...and we stopped for a sandwich at Foolish Craig's Cafe, which appeared to be a hopping little place for the local college crowd. Here are some pictures...
I like the macrame dress on the right...
My guess though...is that it's MORE than 50% off
My mom likes cocks...

A great message to find in the men's room...

We returned to Denver and went to a show at Comedy Works featuring Craig Robinson a.k.a. Darryl from "The Office" and it was a great show. Even the warmup acts were hilarious...and I was probably the only person on the front row that wasn't getting messed with. If I had to some up Mr Robinson's act in one phrase, it would be me singing "Take Your Paaanties Off", it was great observational humor about music and relationships and what-not. I would highly recommend it...and I think he was impressed that in a room of 300, I believe I was the only singing along to Slick Rick's "Children's Story" during one part. "Is it illegal to know hip-hop here in Colorado?" Great show...and they have a pretty impressive lineup of acts over the next few weeks including Dom Irrera, Tom Papa and David Alan Grier...so I may be there a few times this winter. Anybody interested? Let me know.
This is what the front row looks like...

Sunday, we walked down the 16th Street Mall in the morning...and then had lunch in the Hard Rock Cafe (people visiting keep picking that place, I've eaten there like four times now...but am never disappointed with their Red, White & Bleu Burger). We sat next to the local chapter of the Bon Jovi Fan Club...so seeing my Eagles shirt, we became friends right away (he owns the Philadelphia Soul AFL team AND is apparently an Eagles fan from northern Jersey) so that was fun...but after that, I had to rush home to watch the Eagles game...and got there just in time to see that halftime score of 24-6 Cardinals...and then you probably read my rant yesterday about how it ended up. The (sigh) Arizona Cardinals...are going to the Super Bowl. That's good news for the LA Clippers of the NBA though...because that means they're the next surprise team. Maybe next year when Kobe has a tissy fit and wants to be traded...but doesn't want to move. It could happen.

After the Eagles game, my mom & aunt were exhausted (from shopping I guess) and I needed some comedy in my life...so we had pretty much my first psuedo-Movie Night in my apartment...which included four episodes of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia", "The 40-Year Old Virgin" and "The Big Lebowski." They enjoyed all of them...well, they didn't get the Lebowski movie too much apparently...but my mom's pretty convinced that the reason I liked it was because I was the Dude in high school...and my friends were Walter & Donnie. It's pretty much true. Anyway, fun night.

Today, they did some more shopping (with me escourting them) and then they took me grocery shopping so that I wouldn't starve and would have to cook for all the ladies in the apartments or something (moms are like that) and then I took them to the airport, driving back in a dust storm that unfortuantely caused a few fatal accidents. Be careful driving out there everybody. Hope you all enjoyed your long weekend like I did and make it home safe. More tomorrow when I get back to my usual rants and news flashes. Have a groovy Martin Luther King Night!!! Hopefully you'll have a great Dream too. I know I will...

I don't know that I would buy the world if it was on sale. Although, apparently it has all the tea in China.

I hear that's quite valuble.

Any man who can write, "My mom likes cocks..." is a man to be reckoned with. The pics were great, but I like the one in the bathroom the best.

Gentlemen, it's great to hear from ya.

Doc, I'm not sure if you're aware of the theme when I'm on vacations with my mom...but there always seems to be a picture of her standing next to a giant cock...and her kitchen is COMPLETELY decorated with them...and it makes me laugh hysterically.

TMS, surprisingly tea is a multi-billion in China...but constitutes less than half of the world's tea industry...and at 75% off, you can't afford NOT to invest in those piping hot beverages. :)

Where Should I Go Next?
