BACON DAAAAY!!! - Part 1

Good Afternoon Ladies & Gentlemen,

Yes... it's true. The first of possibly many quarterly parties centered around the gloriousness of Bacon. And no... I don't have a  bacon fetish... more of a fondness... but I do think it's fantastic... and really like it... like... more than a friend. Anyway, the timing of these will be coinsiding with International Bacon Day (Saturday of Labor Day weekend), Sir Francis Bacon's birthday (January 22nd), Kevin Bacon's birthday (July 8th), and we'll have to have one in April sometime to space it out right so... how about MY birthday (April 26th). There... done!

The day started with some decorations... so that people would be able to easily identify the location of this shindig...

Then we got to cooking... we started with some light fare... BLT's, bacon grilled cheese, and we set DA BOMB in the oven...

Then Dizzy's aunts brought a bacon caseroule... which they thought they would fool me by using turkey bacon (aka what taste like canadian bacon without a soul) but it was still pretty delicious... and a different taste than the bombardment of awesomeness that I had been devouring for hours at that point...

Then we added bacon booze... more specifically bacon bourbon... and bacon maple ale...

Then we started with a few desserts... including bacon cinnamon rolls, bacon beer floats, and bacon brownies... and some bacon waffles to provide another change of pace & keep people from going into a diabetic coma...

It was so good & everybody was so full even hours later... that we didn't even get into the curious Chinese Bacon...

We also enjoyed a wonderful new game called Cards Against Humanity... which is basically an R-rated (for Really Raunchy & Racist) version of the card game Apples to Apples... and it was quite hilarious & entertaining. Best part: I WON!!! BOOSH!!!

So yeah... The Inaugural Bacon Day celebration was a complete success & we look forward to another in January sometime hopefully... but I just thought I'd share some of the delicacies with you before my trip to Utah next week. Have a great weekend everybody!!!
