Good Afternoon Ladies & Gentlemen,
Friday night, Brandi was kind enough to give us some free tickets to the Oddball Comedy Tour at Shoreline Amphitheatre featuring a list of comedians including Louis CK, Sarah Silverman, Jim Gaffigan, Chris Hardwick, Demetri Martin, Marc Maron, Moshe Kasher, Brody Stevens& Whitney Cummings. We got there a little late thanks to Shoreline's inability to correctly facilitate 20,000 people that they claim they can do there. Regardless, after being stuck in traffic for almost three hours, we got there by intermission so we could see Maron, Silverman, Gaffigan & Louis CK. Good times!!! Brandi, a thousand thank you's for the tickets. Here are some pictures... but they kinda suck...
Well, it’s after Labor Day so it’s officially Pumpkin Beer Season. As you know from past entries, we’re big fans of them… and even our 2nd batch that we did was a Pumpkin Ale (making for 2nd time below) that was basically an amber ale with pumpkin pie spices… and the one we started two weeks ago was our own variation of making a porter ale that will hopefully have the profile of a pumpkin chocolate chip cookie with 5% ABV. However, the fall tends to bring out some really nice seasonal beers, especially since some of my favorites are pumpkin & Oktoberfest themed… so here are a few that we tried out this past week that we thought you might enjoy & can find at probably every BevMo in America…
· Samuel Adams Harvest Pumpkin Ale – Good amber/golden ale with pumpkin spices
· Samuel Adams Fat Jack – Everything Harvest is… but doubled up… basically a spiced beer with pumpkin qualities, good & boozy (10%)
· Red Hook Pumpkin Porter – Rich, malty porter with some spice & maple notes
· EPIC Brewing Fermentation without Representation Pumpkin Imperial Porter – As mentioned during Utah’s adventure, this is a REALLY good Imperial Porter with spices… are you sensing a theme with these kinds of beer yet?
Well, first off, our spiced pumpkin ale (repeat of last year’s delicious recipe) had to be pushed off due to scheduling… but there was still some good fun to be had… and feel free to check one of our first entrees on the blog HERE from last year’s batch in the meantime…
Saturday, I hung out with J-Mo & R-Boz at the Game Release Party for their buddy's game "Bomb Squad" that we've been helping betta test at other parties for years now... I'm sure that I've mentioned it dozens of times before... but if you have Google Play, get it NOW!!! As for other formats, they'll be coming soon... but yeah, fantastic game!!! Here are some pictures...
Sunday, Izzy & transferred our bottled our Experimental Pale Ale so we'll be able to check out our variety in two weeks. The dehydrated fruit rehydrated with beer, released its sugars... and we can't wait to try the new concoctions. Here are some pictures...
Then we transferred our Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Porter...
Well, that’ll do it for this weekend… but lots of adventures coming up with Northern California Homebrewers Festival this weekend!!! Have a great day everybody!!!
