Good Afternoon Ladies & Gentlemen,
Okay, more catching up… sorry for the long gaps between updates… but here we go.
Izzy & I got to see a special preview screening of “Annabelle: Creation” which was TEN times better than “Annabelle” so go check that out…
We also celebrated our 1st Wedding Anniversary by going to various breweries and Aunt Sue’s birthday bash atEast Brother Brewery…
Then we also decided to go on yet another international trip… so we’ll be going to Japan in November… but more on that to come.
This past weekend, Izzy took me to one of her favorite camping spots when she was a kid… the beautiful Lundy Canyon on the East end of California (basically right near the East Entrance to Yosemite National Park. This place was AMAZING!!! So gorgeous! So quiet! There’s a lake, some great hiking trails, our camp spot was great. Here are some pictures to start…
We drove into the city of Mammoth because our air mattress pump died… but along the way, we stopped byMammoth Brewing Company…
…and then a few blocks away was Black Doubt Brewery… so we got some pizza nearby, then followed it with some beer…
…and then we returned to our campsite for the evening.
The next day, we went on a wonderful 3-4 mile hike up to Lundy Falls… this was incredible…
…at the end, there was a nice little spot on top of the lower falls where you could just chill out, so we did… and rehydrated. Did I mention that Lundy Canyon is at about 7,000 feet elevation and the end of the trial was at about 10,000 feet elevation? Because it was…
…and then the little “Thunderhead” rain clouds popped up periodically… which made me a little wet… I like the rain.
We then went to Mono Lake to see their Tufas, which are basically natural salt pillars…
…then we went to June Lake and enjoyed a few pints at June Lake Brewing…
…and then back to the campsite for an amazing sunset & campfire meal!
The next morning, we packed up & went to the ghost town of Bodie, California! Thriving metropolis during the mining days… and now, you can peak in all the windows to see what artifacts and rotting wallpaper is in there… but still REALLY cool! Here are some pictures…
Then we drove home making decent time for a summer weekend in the Bay Area! FANTASTIC!!!
Also, the past few weeks on the Everything I Learned From Movies podcast, we’ve been continuing Doppelganger Month with the pairings of “Faster” & “Drive Angry” followed by “Olympus Has Fallen” & “White House Down” and ending next week with “Mimic” & “The Relic” and our upcoming surprise Full Length Commentary! More collaborations & fun movies and mini episodes coming up… and possibly our first interview… and it’s a HUGE one! Don’t want to jinx it though! So until then, have a great day everybody!!!
